How the auction works

The first accepted signed bid starts a 24-hour permanent-place auction. 1 SOL opening, 0.1 SOL increases. Bids in the last five minutes extend the close by five minutes, with a 30-minute total cap. The highest accepted bid wins; equal valid bids use server acceptance time. The closing time is shown beside the live countdown.

Before accepting a bid, the server checks the bidder’s finalized public SOL balance and records the balance proof with the bid. A wallet can lead one active auction at a time, preventing one balance snapshot from backing many winning bids. This check does not move funds or grant custody, and it is only a snapshot. Bids stay in each bidder’s wallet while the auction is open. Only the winner pays within 2 hours, after the close, through a separate wallet approval. If the winner does not pay, the next highest distinct bidder gets their own 2-hour window at their own bid. A verified winning placement stays in this edition and its archive. A secured/refundable bid design would require a separately audited on-chain escrow program before it could be offered.
